Short answers for the lock, permissions, speaking in public, billing, and deleting data. Verbada is not in the App Store or Google Play yet.

Email support@verbada.com and we will write back. For the legal detail, see the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

How does the lock work?

You pick the apps that should pause. When you open one of them, Verbada shows a short affirmation. You say it out loud. Speech recognition on the device checks that you said it, and then the app opens. The audio is not stored and is not uploaded. If you would rather not continue, you close the app instead.

What permissions does Verbada need on iPhone?

Verbada uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls so you can choose which apps to pause. Apple keeps that choice on the device as opaque tokens. Verbada cannot see the app names behind those tokens. You will be asked to allow Screen Time access when you set the lock up. You can remove that access later in iOS Settings. Speech recognition runs on the device and does not require uploading audio.

What permissions does Verbada need on Android?

Two system permissions. Usage access lets Verbada notice when you open an app you asked it to pause. Display over other apps lets the pause screen sit on top until you speak, use your PIN, or use a skip. Android will ask you to turn both on in system settings. You can revoke them there at any time. Without them, the pause cannot appear. Verbada does not use these permissions for ads, and it does not sell them.

What if I can't speak?

Use the backup PIN, which is saved in secure storage on the phone, or use one of your daily skips. Skips are limited each day so the pause is still there tomorrow. You can also set a 15-minute grace period when you need to stay in an app, such as replying to a message, without saying the line again.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions, including the 7-day free trial, are billed by Apple or Google, not by verbada.com. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Verbada, then Cancel. On Android, open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Verbada, then Cancel. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid a charge. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Access usually lasts until the end of the period you already paid for.

How do I restore a purchase?

Install Verbada on the new device and sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used to subscribe. In the app, use Restore purchases. That asks the store, through RevenueCat, whether your plan is still active. If it does not appear, confirm you are on the same store account, then email support@verbada.com with the store you used (no need to send a receipt unless we ask).

How do I delete my data?

Uninstalling the app removes the PIN, settings, and affirmations stored on that device. On iPhone, also remove Verbada from Screen Time if you want Apple's authorization gone. On Android, revoke Usage access and the overlay permission if they remain after uninstall. Purchase history stays with Apple or Google. Email support@verbada.com to delete messages you sent us, or any AI affirmation prompts we can tie to your request. Prompts are not linked to an account, so a prompt sent without an identifier may not be possible to single out.

Where do AI affirmations go?

The built-in library and lines you write stay on the device. If you ask for a new AI line, a short text prompt — not audio, and not your list of locked apps — is sent to Verbada's server, which uses OpenAI to write the text. You can ignore that feature and keep using the library.
